TIDE Software / Data Location Summary Last updated: 06/13/06 Introduction ------------ The web site and new plot files are kept on satyr.nsstc.nasa.gov. The level-zero, orbit, attitude, ion mask, and spacecraft potential files are stored on the data archive (medusa.nsstc.nasa.gov). The development, production, and command software are kept on griffin.nsstc.nasa.gov. All routine data handling and processing is done on griffin. The data archive (medusa) is mounted on both griffin and satyr. The command software runs on griffin with backups on amos.nsstc.nasa.gov and goewin.gsfc.nasa.gov. There is a mirror site at GSFC (goewin.gsfc.nasa.gov). The data archive and web site are kept current. Copies of the rest of the software are available for use at GSFC should the need arise. Since mid-1997, the orbit and attitude data are in the pre (predicted) subdirectory. Prior to that time they are in the def (definitive) subdirectory. The new files are downloaded from the pwgdata.gsfc.nasa.gov anonymous ftp site and put in: satyr, griffin: /datafiles which is a link to /archive/data goewin: /archive/data The subdirectory structure is: attiude/pre/ - daily Polar attitude files mask - TIDE ion mask files (one every other day) orbit/pre/ - daily Polar orbit files scpot - Polar spacecraft potential files (month long files) tide/lz/ - daily TIDE level-zero files The archived level-zero, orbit, and attitude files are in: satyr, griffin (medusa): /archive/po_tid_lz_yymm goewin: /archive/po_tid_lz_yymm where yymm is the year and month of the data in the files. The archive subdirectory structure is: data/po/pre/at/ - daily Polar attitude files data/po/pre/or/ - daily Polar orbit files data/po/tid/lz/ - daily TIDE level-zero files TIDE Summary Plot gif, pdf, and jpg files ----------------------------------------- The spectrogram plots can be viewed from the 'View Summary Plots' link on the TIDE home page. Half-orbit and perigee plots can also be viewed on the web as jpeg thumbnails using 'View Thumbnail Plots' The new files are temporarily stored in: satyr: /export2/data/tide_plots goewin: /archive/data/tide_plots The archived files are in: satyr, griffin (medusa): /archive/po_tid_plt_yymm goewin: /archive/po_tid_plt_yymm where yymm is the year and month of the data represented on the plots. The subdirectories for all four sites are: engspn_avg - TIDE counts averaged over energy and spin angle - 24 hour plot hk/daily - TIDE and PSI daily (24hr) housekeeping plots hk/trends - TIDE and PSI monthly housekeeping plots htr_spectrograms/half_orbit - TIDE summary half-orbit spectrogram plots htr_spectrograms/perigee - TIDE summary perigee spectrogram plots htr_spectrograms/plasmasphere - TIDE summary plasmasphere spectrogram plots Polar Spacecraft Data Archive ----------------------------- Mission data is available at the pwgdata.gsfc.nasa.gov anonymous ftp site. Login in as 'anonymous' and cd to pub. The site can also be reached at via the web at ftp://pwgdata.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/. Unless otherwise stated, the files cover one day. The latest (less than 90 days old) are kept in the uncompressed directory. All mission data is gzipped and kept in the compressed directory. The EFI key parameter files contain the spacecraft potential. archive directory structure: dsn/po - *txt files contain the times for three weeks of DSN NRT data passes nrt/po/tid/lz/yyyy - latest TIDE NRT level-zero files uncompressed/po/tid/lz/yyyy - latest TIDE level-zero files compressed/po/tid/lz/yyyy - gzipped TIDE level-zero files uncompressed/po/pre/at/yyyy - latest predicted attitude files compressed/po/pre/at/yyyy - gzipped predicted attitude files compressed/po/def/at/yyyy - gzipped definitive attitude files uncompressed/po/pre/or/yyyy - latest predicted orbit files compressed/po/pre/or/yyyy - gzipped predicted orbit files compressed/po/def/or/yyyy - gzipped definitive orbit files uncompressed/po/pre/wo/yyyy - latest 70-day working orbit files compressed/po/pre/wo/yyyy - gzipped 70-day working orbit attitude files uncompressed/po/efi/k0/yyyy - latest EFI key parameter files compressed/po/efi/k0/yyyy - gzipped EFI key parameter files TIDE key parameter and high time resolution files ------------------------------------------------- TIDE key parameter and high time resolution files are available at the NSSDC at ftp://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/istp/ or http://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/. The key parameter files (po_k0_tid_yyyymmdd_v0n.cdf) are available from 03/01/96 - 09/25/02). TIDE high time resolution files containing H+, O+, and He+ (po_h0_tid_yyymmdd_v0n.cdf) are available from 03/28/96 - 09/30/96. TIDE high time resolution files containing Total Ion (Stops) data (po_h1_tid_yyyymmdd_v0n.cdf) are available from 12/08/96 - present. The files are also kept on the NSSTC (medusa) and GSFC (goewin) data archives in /archive/tid_cdf in the h0_tid and h1_tid subdirectories.
