Operations / Software Comments - 03/01/05 TIDE Telecon Operations: ---------- There will be a spacecraft attitude adjustment on 03/02/05. TIDE high voltage was turned off at 16:40 on 03/01. The high voltage will be ramped at on 03/05. Software: --------- The current Stops long-term calibration used in the processing software is based on data collected when the Stops MCP was set at -1600 v. On 10/21/04, the Stops MCP voltage was changed to -1800 v. This makes the calibration correction incorrect for any data collected since then. By default, the gif-walk zoom option and all of the Custom Plots use the correction. When processing data collected since 10/21/04, the option to use the correction should be turned off. The option to use the long-term correction is near the bottom of each custom plot menu (just above the submit button). For all plots except velocity distribution, a comment at the bottom of the plot indicates if the correction was used. For velocity distribution plots, the comment is in the accompanying .txt file. Note: the summary plots are created with no correction. Work started looking at ways to improve the quality of the TIDE data by doing a better job of handling missing data. Work continues adding the option to the processing software to create velocity distribution plots in GSE and GSM coordinates in addition to b-field coordinates and adding the option to contour the velocity distribution PSD data.
